Postdoctoral/Research Assistant/Research Associate Opening
in Proteomics and mass spectrometry
The proteomics core facility at Univ. of North Dakota Medical School cordially invites you to apply for a postdoctoral/research assistant/research associate position, in the field of proteomics and mass spectrometry. The compensation includes competitive salary (commensurate with experience), fringe benefits including health insurance for you and your whole family, and travel support to meetings. The position is NIH funded and renewable up to three years.

This position will allow you to use proteomics and mass spectrometry tools to conduct cancer proteomics research in a team-oriented environment. We provide freedom for you to choose projects within the direction of our research. Training on MALDI-TOF/TOF and nano-scale LC-MS/MS with state-of-art mass spectrometers as well as cancer biology will be provided. We'll happy to see you grow up as an independent researcher to be able to design experiments, write manuscripts, train graduate students and collaborate with others. A limited service to faculties within and outside UND will be required.
Equipments:
The proteomics core is equipped with State-of-art mass spectrometers, including a QSTAR XL QTOF (ABI) online with capillary HPLC system (LC packings) and a 4800 MALDI-TOF/TOF installed recently. An offline HPLC system (Agilent 1100) with fraction collector offers great flexibility in 2D-LC or LC-MALDI-TOF/TOF applications. It also includes 2D-gel/1D-gel apparatus and a VersaDOC imaging scanner (Bio-Rad). In addition, the proteomics core can freely access to the facilities in the Dept. of Pathology such as cell culture, immunohistochemistry and micro-dissection.
Requirements:
Applicants should have a PhD degree with training in proteomics, mass spectrometry or bio-analytical chemistry. Previous experience in cancer biology or signaling pathway is beneficial for application.
We are looking forward to having you as an important part of us. Thanks.
